Anoka County Child Abuse Prevention Council
When we help children today, we all do better tomorrow.
The mission of the Anoka County Child Abuse Prevention Council is to educate the Anoka County community in order to prevent maltreatment of children. Please download our brochure to learn more about what constitutes child abuse.
With education as the primary focus, the Council has engaged in a variety of initiatives to educate the Anoka County community and raise awareness about child abuse.
The Council promotes the initiatives and messages of Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota, including the Five Protective Factors:
- Nurturing and attachment
- Knowledge of parenting and of child and youth development
- Parental resilience
- Social connections
- Concrete supports for parents
The Council is funded by individual donations, corporate donations, and the Children’s Trust Fund. Donations can be made by contacting Goody at 763-323-2691 or Goody@ViolenceFreeAnokaCounty.org or Donna at 763-422-7047 or Donna@ViolenceFreeAnokaCounty.org.
The Council meets every second Tuesday of the month from 12:00 to 1:30 at the Coon Rapids Salvation Army.
Membership consists of public and private organization representatives and community members.
